Been so busy working last year I barely had time to share some!
Kicking off with 5 (!) new Asics film I’ve had the honors of doing music & SFX for.
In a similar fashion to the previous tech videos, I’ve created tracks supported with strong dynamic SFX, layered with loads of different foley elements.
Kinda like the foley composers that make footsteps by smashing leeks etc. - but then it’s me with foam, bubbles and water droplets. All beautifully rendered into existence by the talented guys over at Wondervision.
Superblast
For this film we wanted to create a feeling of bounce & soft landings. The track itself is energetic uplufting and warm.
Basically a more serious version of a bouncing castle.
GT2000 6 & GelKayano
The main focus here was the foam ripple effect that represents the soft landing these shoes provide. Many iterations have been made to explore how it would sound if a foamy substance would open up like this. Should it be ticking? Should it be more like a ripping sound? As per usual proud with the result and the close collaboration and sparring with everyone on board that goes on for these films.
Metafuji Trail
Wild outdoors nature, stones and grit. Those were the keywords for Metafuji. More focus on the zen you feel when you’re trailing in nature.
The music is more subtle than the others, and more focus is laid on what you hear when running in nature, feeling the natural high.
Gel-Cumulus26 GTX
Gortex is a sought after material that protects your feet from the wetness you meet during your runs.
It’s difficult to work with liquids in audio, they can sound weird or ‘dirty’ very easily.
Happy to tweak to get the job done as usual however - it think we managed to achieve what we were looking for: Light droplets, subtle splashes and a floating suspended in water kind a feeling.
